The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has barred visitors from entering the Tribhuvan International Airport premises to see off the passengers making a departure. The visitors except for the air passengers have been barred from entering the airport premises in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 infections.

The visitors have been barred from entering the airport as per the health protocol issued by the Ministry of Health and Population, and TIA COVID-19 Crisis Management Procedure 2020 (Supplement to TIA Airport Emergency Plan 2019) to prevent the air passengers, airport security personnel, airlines staff among other employees deputed at the airport from the risk of coronavirus infection.

The notice issued by the CAAN on Friday said people have been barred from entering the airport to see off the passengers in order to minimise the crowds.

Likewise, the passengers entering the airport will have to wear masks compulsorily, get the body temperature measured before entering the terminal building at the airport. Also, the use of sanitiser and maintaining physical distance have been made mandatory for passengers.
