The Supreme Court has demanded a written response to the petition filed demanding that the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker be vacated.
On Sunday, a single bench of Judge Hari Phuyal issued a show cause order demanding answers from the opposition including the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
Advocate Kishore Paudel and others filed a petition stating that the Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and Deputy Speaker Pushpa Bhusal have not resigned and should resign, stating that their tenure will be till the day before the registration of nominations for the next new election.
