Advisor to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Kul Acharya, announced his candidacy for the post of the central President of the NRNA.

Talking to RSS, he said that if elected for the term of 2021-2023, he would work to create an organization that would accommodate all non-resident Nepalis. Protection of property of non-resident Nepalis, investment promotion, and securing foreign employment will be my main agenda.

The tenth convention of the association is going to be held in Kathmandu on October 23-25 and the election will be held virtually for the first time.

"Even six years after the promulgation of Nepal's constitution, millions of Nepali expatriates have been affected by the non-implementation of non-resident Nepali citizenship as provided for in the constitution. I will take the initiative to help enforce the non-resident Nepali citizenship,” said Acharya.

Acharya said that his main priority would be to promote the youth and women in the organization and also to strengthen and purify the association.

NRNA recognized by the Government of Nepal is registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It now has over 100,000 members worldwide in more than 80 countries.
