A laborer died while another one got seriously injured after being buried by a mound at Balkot, Bhaktapur on Sunday. He was buried while digging a trench in the inner roadway from Kaushaltar to Sirutar. The trench was being made to widen drainage.
The accident occurred at Ragini Height of Balkot in Suryabinayak Municipality-2.
The dead one is Nitesh Rishidev, 22, originally from Gadhi Rural Municipalicy-2, Sunsari.
Similarly, 30-year-old Siyaram Rishidev from the same address, who received serious injury, has been getting treatment at Bhaktapur International Hospital, Kaushaltar, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Range, Bhaktapur, Basanta Pathak.
However, Nitish breathed his last while undergoing treatment. They were rescued jointly by the team of Nepal Police, Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and locals.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, the police added.
