Home Minister Lekhak instructs Nepal Police to keep people's concern in priority

Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak has directed the Nepal Police to keep the people's issues in priority.

Addressing the inauguration of a newly constructed building and physical facilities of the District Police Range Kathmandu today, he opined that the Police's issues are also included when people's concerns are kept in primacy.

"I call upon police colleagues to work with self-confidence. People's concerns need to be prioritized. Own issues are also included when public's issues are given priority," he said.

The Home Minister mentioned that works are being carried out as per the plan to accomplish 10 tasks in 100 days of the formation of the government.

Noting that the Police is connected to the basic services that the citizens get from the State, he expressed his belief that the people will get efficient services from the newly constructed modern building of the District Police Range Kathmandu. "This building will serve in a big way in the services delivered by Nepal Police. Let the people get apt services. The service provided by the police is one of the significant services provided by the government," Home Minister Lekhak reiterated.

Elucidating on the objective of the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) joining hands to form the present government, he said, "Two big parties have formed a coalition government. This government is not formed for the sake of some people becoming ministers. The period after the elections in 2022 was only spent in change of governments. We two large parties came together for political stability, economic development and expediting development works."

As the Home Minister said the main goal of this government is to establish stability, economic development, durable peace, good governance and an inclusive State. He contended that the nation's self-confidence has boosted up when the Congress and UML have come together.

"The issue of transitional justice, which had been protracted for 18 years, has come to a conclusion. The discussion was continuously taking place between the political parties to finalize the issues since long back. But with the increased confidence of the two parties, it was reached to conclusion,” Lekhak said.

The Minister further said that there is an energetic Prime Minister and therefore, the incumbent government will do some meaningful deeds to lead the nation on the way to prosperity.

Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal said that the new building can be considered as an important achievement in accordance with the policy of the Nepal government to make the Nepal Police force dynamic, professional, strong and capable in all sectors.

He said that this will increase the morale of the Nepal Police and also make it easier for the service seekers.

Similarly, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, committed to continuing such infrastructure constructing projects for Nepal police. He mentioned that due to the systematic structure, the police will help to provide services to the general public easily and systematically.
