Govt extends prohibitory order by one week in Kathmandu valley

Prohibitory order from April 29 to mid-May

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday decided to extend the prohibitory order imposed in the Kathmandu valley.

Minister for Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha told NepalNews that the government decided to extend the Prohibitory order by another one week in a bid to break the chain of the transmission of COVID-19.

Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur on Monday issued prohibitory order as per Section 2 of the Communicable Disease Act, 2020 and Sub-section 3 of Section 6 of Local Administration Act, 2028.

With the extension, now the prohibitory order will last till mid-May, according to Minister Shreshta.
