2 more Cholera cases reported in Kathmandu

Cholera has been found in two more people in Kathmandu Valley. Dr Chuman Lal Das, Director, Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Ministry of Health and Population, informed that cholera has been confirmed in two children in Kageshwari Manhara Municipality.

At the same time, 19 cholera patients have reached the Kathmandu Valley. According to him, cholera has been found in 4 and 6-year-old children of Kageshwari Manhara Municipality-6. He said the two boys had returned home after treatment at a local hospital. It is recommended to drink only boiled or chlorinated water to prevent cholera and diarrhoea. Hands should be washed thoroughly with soap and water before and after cooking, after defecation and after using garbage.

Similarly, the Ministry of Health and Population has requested that drinking water should always be covered with clean containers, food should be cooked well, and rotten, stale and fried food should not be eaten. It has also been requested to eat soft food in case of diarrhoea.
