Bangladeshi Ambassador pays courtesy call on Minister Badu

Bangladeshi Ambassador to Nepal, Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply Dilendra Prasad Badu on Friday.

At the meeting held at the ministry, the duo discussed the issues as bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors, according to Minister’s secretariat. Minister Badu extended special thanks to Bangladesh for her assistance to the health sector in Nepal during COVID-19.

Such assistance would help foster people-to-people relations between the two countries, the Minister said, viewing that the bilateral trade and investment promotion could be beneficial to both countries.

On the occasion of the 50th year of diplomatic ties between Nepal and Bangladesh, Minister Badu expressed best wishes to the Bangladeshi government and people there via the Ambassador and believed that cooperation could be extended in commerce, tourism, and energy, among others.

In response, Ambassador Chaudhary also viewed the two-country relations could be further strengthened with the cooperation in the sectors of energy, trade facilitation, and tourism promotion. He stressed the need for forwarding the Nepal-Bangladesh trade agreement.

He also hoped that Minister Badu would play a leading role to create an investment-friendly atmosphere along with investment security in Nepal. Bangladesh was willing to invest in Nepal, Ambassador Chaudhary reminded.
