Remittance inflows increase to Rs 809.89 billion

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, remittance inflows increased 19.2 per cent to Rs 809.89 billion in the 10th month of the current fiscal year against a decrease of 6.3 per cent in the same period of the previous fiscal year. In US dollar terms, remittance inflows increased 16.1 per cent to $6.87 billion in the review period against a decrease of 7.6 per cent in the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the number of Nepali workers (institutional and individual-new and legalised) taking approval for foreign employment decreased 60.3 per cent in the review period. It had decreased 2.7 per cent in the same period of the previous fiscal.

The number of Nepali workers (Renew entry) taking approval for foreign employment decreased 49 per cent in the review period. It had decreased 24.6 per cent in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The net transfer increased 17.2 per cent to Rs 903.77 billion in the review period. Such transfer had decreased 6.9 per cent in the same period of the previous year.
