PM Dahal pledges all support to Indian investors

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has invited Indian industrialists and businesspersons to invest in Nepal without any hesitation.

Addressing a business summit organized jointly by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Indian Industries, the Prime Minister urged Indian investors to come to Nepal for investment as the government has facilitated policy, legal and many other matters, and created an investment-friendly environment in the country.

Stating that the current government is ready to move ahead through the joint collaboration with the private sector, he mentioned that the government has set up one-door service centers, investment-friendly laws and special economic zones for the benefit of the investors.

Calling for investment in Nepal's energy, physical infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors, the Prime Minister said that there will be no problem in bringing back investment returns from Nepal.

Referring to the bilateral talks held this morning with his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Dahal said important discussion was held on the broader interests of Nepal, which has taken the bilateral relationship to a new height. All concerning issues were discussed with an open heart, which led to a solution for the common issues between the two countries.

Making it clear that the relationship between Nepal and India cannot be compared with others, the Prime Minister said that both the countries need to move forward together for economic development and advancement.

Addressing the program, Union Minister of India Piyush Goyal said that the relationship between Nepal and India is unique. Stating that borders and geopolitics cannot divide the relationship between the two countries, he emphasized that the neighborhood first policy put forward by the Indian Prime Minister should be followed by a common vision between Nepal and India in the path to prosperity.

Ambassador of Nepal to India, Shankar Prasad Sharma, said that agreement is important for trade and commerce between the two countries and appealed to the Indian industrialists to invest in Nepal as the Nepali government has created a favourable environment for foreign investment.

Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board of Nepal, Sushil Bhatta, said that the successful implementation of large projects like Arun III clearly shows that Nepal is an easy destination for investment. He urged Indian businesspersons to invest in Nepal's energy, physical infrastructure and other sectors, and assured them that necessary facilitation would be provided through the IBN.

President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Industry and Commerce, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, shared successful stories of Indian companies investing in Nepal and urged for joint collaboration and cooperation between Nepali and Indian industrialists.

Chair of the Confederation of Indian Industries, R. Dinesh expressed happiness to host such an important discussion today with the aim of building a common vision between the industrialists of Nepal and India.

Industrialists and businesspersons from Nepal and India participated in the program, along with members of the Nepali delegation led by the Prime Minister.
