In collaboration with UNCDF and UNESCAP, Khalti has been empowering and digitising women-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through training programmesand workshops. Its major purpose has been to make women financially more independent.

“It was an honour to make our little contribution in empowering and digitising women-led businesses. We believe our training will help them to promote their sales more efficiently and expand their business,” said Project Coordinator of Khalti Digital Wallet, Prabhat Kumar Jha.“We have also introduced MSMEs to Khalt’shyperlocal marketplace, that is, Khalti bazaar. It provides free digital marketing of their services and products to help them increase their sales,” he added.

“Working with Khalti, UNDCF, and UNESCAP has been both personally and professionallydelightful for me and our members. We, Sabah Nepal and the village by Sabah, are grateful to be a part of this phenomenal campaign. MSMEs indeed need such support to sustain and grow effectively,” said one of the participants from the workshop, SnegdhataShrestha.

To boost the programme Khalti has been helping many women open bank accounts at zero cost by collaborating with banks. The idea of conducting a digital financial literacy training programme has made women-led enterprises understand the scope of receiving and digital payment. To make payments smooth, Khalti has also been providing bulk payment service enabling bulk transfers from the women-led MSMEs’ accounts to their individual bank accounts. Likewise, Khalti has also been providing up to 4 per centcashback on every top-up, Khalti QRs for free of cost, and 500 SMS to promote their business.
