The government will not be able to spend the budget from Thursday due to the budget crisis as a result of a tussle between the government and the opposition parties. On the other hand, the government spent Rs 14.87 billion on Wednesday.

Around Rs 14.87 billion were spent from government funds on Wednesday, according to Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO). Of the amount, Rs 8.7 billion has been spent on recurrent expenditure and Rs 6 billion on financial management. The capital expenditure has been figured Rs 160 million.

Since the next meeting of the Federal Parliament has been scheduled for Monday, September 20, the government is not allowed to spend the budget during this period.

The government had brought a replacement bill by the end of May as the budget brought through the ordinance was approaching the deadline.

The government will be able to spend the budget only after the bill is passed by the parliament.

The government will have to look for an alternative if the replacement bill is not passed.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma tabled the bill to replace the ordinance budget brought by the erstwhile government in the session of the House of Representatives (HoR), on September 10.
