Exporting countries should establish industries: CM Rai

Chief Minister of Province No. 1 Rajendra Kumar Rai has said that entrepreneurs should be formed to establish export-oriented industries to reduce the foreign trade deficit of the country.

Concluding the 'Virat Trade Expo' organized by the Morang Trade Association today, he expressed his commitment to formulate policies for the establishment of industries in a smooth manner. Stressing the need for entrepreneurs to be involved in maintaining the prosperity of the country and increasing employment, Chief Minister Rai said that the Expo has played an important role in building the national capital. 

He informed me that the federal government has started the process to release the budget for the construction of the Regional International Airport in Biratnagar. Chief Minister Rai said that necessary discussions would be started among all parties for the construction of exhibition space in the region as per the wishes of the industrialists and traders.

Chief of the Biratnagar Metropolitan City Bhim Parajuli stressed the need to build a regional international airport in Biratnagar with the support of the three-tier government.

CPN (UML) Standing Committee Member and Former Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki, Nepali Congress Central Member Amurt Aryal, and UML Morang Chairman Rishikesh Pokharel said that the expo has helped in economic development in the region.

 President of the Association Navin Rijal, President of Industries Association Morang Suyash Pyakurel, Bhim Ghimire of Confederation of Nepalese Industries, former President of the Association Tarachand Khaitan, and State President of Federation of Nepali Journalists Lila Vallabh Ghimire pointed out the need for everyone to play a role in making Biratnagar second.

 There were 300 sales booths at the expo. Indigenous, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and other countries' agricultural, domestic products, food, clothing, small and large industries manufactured goods were kept for sale and distribution. The expo was viewed by 350,000 spectators from Province No. 1, Madhes, and neighboring Indian cities and had a turnover of Rs 450 million, said Expo Coordinator Vikas Vegwani.

 On the occasion, media persons of Udhosh Daily, Shrishti Daily, and Economic Campaign, excellent stalls, and those who helped in the construction and operation of the Expo were honored.
